What is difference between Similar Sounding Arabic Letters ى with out shadd ي {single yaa} and yaa with shadd يّ {double yaa}?
Here is an important sign of Arabic is used names as Shadda ّ .
Shadda is a diacritical mark just like as small w of English letter look like this ّ .
When a consonant has shadda it is pronounced double {without inserting short vowel} because according to Arabic rules It is functionally equivalent to writing a consonant twice.Shadda squeezes adjacent double letters into single.
Just like here in case of yaa double yaa means a yaa which has shadd as shown يّ .
So the difference between a single yaa and double yaa means a yaa which is without shadda ي is single yaa and a yaa which has shadda is a double yaa يّ.
